Screen resolution & pause problem

All this talk about TA got me to re-install the game. But now I have a new,
more powerful machine and I'm running into two problems.

1) When I'm paused I can't scroll the screen.
2) Can I increase the scren resolution? On a 19" monitor the graphics are
kind of all jaggedy.

I solved the screen resolution problem. I forgot how flexible this game is.
However, I still have thge pause problem. Any ideas?
