It's not perfect but it's very good. My favourite version is 3.1.4,
although many prefer version 2.0 which is . . . less drastic. The builds
since 314 have been "beta" builds, so they have more bad changes balancing
out the good ones.

One nice thing about UH (all versions) is that it's dead easy and absolutely
hassle-free to switch between different UH versions and OTA, so if you don't
feel like playing UH you can just play ordinary OTA.

I prefer Uberhack to unmodified TA on most counts, although OTA is still the
defining RTS experience

Just MHO.

It and Switek's bugfix are two of, if not THE two best of the bunch.
Both address bug & balance issues without radically changing the tenor
and theme of the original game.

A "must have" for experienced players and devotees of the game.

Mmmmm.

The only slightly funny thing I found about UberHack (3.0, I think) was the
inability to target underwater buildings with most ships, even things like
(the destroyers whose name I can't think of right now) which _can_ shoot
things underwater, it just doesn't want to...

/me likes UberHack. Although variety is the spice of life; at the mo I
generally play without it.

What exactly does it do? as for switecks i`m even sure what its supposed to
do. I never had any problems with TA until i found out that you could
"supposedly" make it better. since adding those fixes and uninstalling them,
my game takes longer to load. and plays slower. i thought it was my cpu but
am convinced that its all the add ons.

Been quite awhile since I've played TA. Feel the need for a fix, that's why
I'm perusing the group.

Personally, I wouldn't play w/o UBERHACK!!!

If your relatively new to the game then play OTA, until you feel the
slightest hint of boredom, then uberhack (along with the Bloodthirsty AI).

There's Chris Taylor, Clayton Kauzlaric, and then there's Brave Sir Robin.
