Mr OkCancel - well I'll be
The ladder was kinda fun, but it's a shame it didn't take off as much as we'd liked, but it did get some of the ng guys playing each other rather than playing on TEN / Zone / GBL. I only play the game at LANs now, but I can still hold my own fairly well, but when I look back at some of my demos I realise how much better I used to be!
A couple of LANs ago someone said to me "great game of ta last night" but I was so drunk I couldn't remember playing, and neither could my partner. We had to go to my ta dir and watch the demo (auto-record) to prove to ourselves that we actually had played! Shocking, but even so, we won
As far as improving the game, I just accepted the remaining bugs left after 3.1 and left it alone with CC installed. I pruned all of my files now so that a complete full installation of the game with CC all maps and missions fits on 1 cd that doesn't require installing, but apart from that it's a standard 3.1 CC build.
Every month or so I read this ng, but it's so quiet these days that I rarely post - I just look at it out of regression.
My main game now is Battlefield 1942 although like I said, ta pops up in LANs. If any of you guys are into the UK LAN scene then the multiplay LANs are the ones I frequent (www.multiplay.co.uk). I'm very much a regular there even though I now live in Switzerland - they are easily good enough for me to fly over for them.
If you fancy regressing about the ng at anytime you'll find me in #mpukbf1942 on quakenet - you may even convince me to brush the dust off my ta cd so I can whup ya
I loved this ng - the sent items folder on my home PC is testament to that
Njoroge.
