Krogoth encounter

I'm looking for any suggestions on how to beat the krogoth encouter.
Just as I start to build up a bit I'm running out of metal or energy,
and am getting creamed by air strikes. I found a link to a patch that
lets you use any unit, but the link is broken, its on
planetannihilation.com.

Thanks!

Tom

Half the fun is figuring out how to do it. Using a crack to let you use
any unit means you didn't *really* beat the krogoth encounter, now doesn't
it? ;)

D-Gun the <bleep>er with your commander :) You'll need to distract the
kroggie to allow your commander to get close enough, and he'll need to be
repaired *straight* away... but it works a treat :)

Does retreating onto the ledge in the corner and fencing off w/
Dragon's Teeth count as *really* beating the Krogoth encounter?
Because even though you don't use any cracks, it *is* a horrible abuse
of the AI, which has problems w/ DT's...

For that matter, how do you beat some of the higher level Core
missions w/o fencing things off one way or the other? Or is that the
only way to go at it?

Actually a Krog need to be d-gunned twice and the explosion probably will
kill ur commander....

I replayed the mission after I became a veteran player from playin online
and found it to be easy.
Keep the AI busy by building some vehicle labs that r constantly sending
flashes and samsons to the AI along different routes. Meanwhile you expand
and ad some level 2 units to the stream of units.
Then get some adv air, bb's, nukes and take out the AI's protector, labs,
plants and economy.. game over. Victory!

Nah man, if your commander is at full health he'll only lose about 1/2
health from the explosion of a Krog. Maybe you took a couple shots from
him before you D-gunned?

? It's only needed to be d-gunned once every time I've tried it...

Pretty much... :) I'd have liked it if the AI built more elsewhere, and had
other avenues of attacks. Once you had the defences capable of fending off
the kroggies built up, the mission's practically over.. :(

Well, if anyone here can mes about with the mission using one of the
editors, make it a little more fun, I think several people (including
myself) would be grateful ;)

I'd have a go myself, but I ain't got a clue how... :)

I made an AI profile and saved it in a folder called AI in the Totala dir. I
called it default. This is the AI-profile the AI uses in the campaign.

I also have the 5k unit patch and put the unit limit to 1001.
The AI made a lot of core ships, aircraft, intimidators, vehicle labs,
goliath and all the other units I include in the profile. He constantly
expanded and attacked.

This made the game last quite longer. It's still an AI, but at least he
builds the right units now. I guess u could use the BAI, but then it would
become almost impossible to win.

Have fun.

Hmm...sounds fun...maybe you should put all this in a zip file and put it
ona website :) Could you make the AI use nukes of it's own later in the
game? It'd make things a little more interesting. .;)
